United States citizens should have two irrevocable freedoms--to marry the person they love and to purchase an awesome wine at a reasonable price. With every bottle of Same Sex Meritage you purchase and enjoy, you support those who are currently forbidden from marrying the people they love and want to spend their lives with. This prohibition is unquestionably a violation of civil rights, and we will dispute it until all loving and committed couples enjoy the freedom to marry in the USA. Same Sex Meritage supports the progressive movement on this issue by pledging a portion of revenue to Freedom To Marry, the campaign to win marriage nationwide: working to win more states, growing the majority for marriage, and overturning federal marriage discrimination.
This California Meritage rivals its Old World inspirations by staying stylistically true to the philosophy that blended wines bring out the best from the grape better than the components alone. Drink Same Sex Meritage because, in doing so, you are supporting the fight for increased civil rights by toasting to brighter futures for us all. Go to freedomtomarry.org and samesexmeritage.com to find out about how you can become more involved with this key campaign.
Thank you for your support!

More info about shipping: Currently, we are working on distribution in IL and NY, and VA is on our list of states for this year. Click here to see where else you can find our wine. We pass along the shipping costs from our fulfillment vendor, and it's all weight-based, which is why as the number of bottles goes up, we are able to discount the shipping--it literally costs the same to ship one or three bottles, and wine cannot be drop-shipped as with other kinds of goods, unfortunately. We suggest working with friends to pool for a larger shipment, which will bring the cost below what you'd pay in the store without gas or sales tax. Until we have grown out our distribution network, I'm afraid that's the best our little-winery-that-could is able to offer at the moment.

Cherry cola, vanilla; very soft, almost Oregon Pinot in feel. Enjoyed by everyone at the table. And they donate a portion of sales to support marriage equality.

This is a wine we'll feature early 2013 on Cellar Angels--where we change the world one wine and one week at a time. We've tasted it--it's good, very good. Terrific blend, very low tannins and Josh Stein knows a thing or two about sourcing incredible fruit without charging an arm and leg. This will be THE wine you and your guests are talking about for the wine, not just the cause.

Same Sex Meritage will be loved as both a wonderful idea and a wonderful wine. I loved it - and I drink a lot of wine. Five to ten minutes in the glass and it is delicious!
